Being Creative Makes You Happier
Dec 16, 2022This month, I've noticed an extra dose of stress in myself and my clients. My go-to's for stress management are getting enough sleep, meditation, exercise, and shifting my perspective from "this is too much" to "I only have to do one thing at a time." I've noticed recently I've added another: creativity breaks.
There have been a lot of studies on the fact that when you are happy, you're more creative. Research is emerging that creativity and happiness go both ways: being creative can positively impact your subjective well-being. Of course, for some of us with little artistic mastery, this takes some suspension of the inner critic on the final product, but it's worth it. I've been playing around with online design tools that do the work for me, and I'm still getting a boost in my mood. What will you do to try out a creativity break?
